Love Letter

The first question I was asked during the group ice-breaking in the Semper Fidelis camp was "For you, life is..."

I have LOTS of answer for that. Life is an adventure, life is an ice-cream, life moves on, life is short, life is a big canvas, life is just a cup of cake, life is a box of chocolate, life is either a risk or nothing at all, life is a journey, life is the art of drawing without an eraser...You get my point, I have lots of answer.

But my favorite is:

Life is to be happy.

Happy in whatever I am doing. But yes, happy is widely subjective as well. I can be happy just by watching Phineas and Ferb. Or reading Luffy. Or munching on a Snickers bar. Or roaming around Tong Hing browsing imported groceries (this is unexplainable).

Okay, back to the camping story. It was a happy, relaxed Bible camp. We have a designated hour to meditate on the Scriptures individually, and I found that absolutely calming. The whole campsite was almost silent and solemn during that hours. That is how you should study your Bible at home, focused. Not with Farmville on your screen. ;p Noted!

The group discussion was a loaded with lessons too. I was among the OLDest but the younger members are much richer with creative ideas. Way to go! You never know how crazy their answers can be.

For me, the Lord's love letter is exactly what is written in 2Tim3:16,17. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good works (NIV). There is a lot to study, and there may be a lot we could not understand that may lead to confusion. Deuteronomy 29:29 said that "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law". Hence, prayer is VITAL!

Since happiness is important to me, everything I do should make me happy. After all, if it does not make you happy, why do it? The Lord is a great joy-giver and I am blessed that being faithful in my faith makes me happy. I have no interest in condemning other faith coz it is disrespectful. I personally know some non-Christ believer that is much more alike with Christ than us who call ourselves Christian. Sad, but that famous Mahatma Gandhi quote is so true.

Well, writing those Bible verses in this post won't make me holier than anyone. Being vocal about my faith is not what I used to do. :) After all, I am just a sinner too, saved by grace.

That's the Bible (and laptop) that Mum gave as I entered undergrad studies. After a few years, the Bible was not this pretty anymore. Not necessarily well-read, more to not-well-kept. ^^

The Bible and Bible alone. Not more, not less.

May this greatest love letter help us to be always faithful .

Keeping Up

I'm trying to keep this blog healthy by posting at least one entry per week..note the word TRYING. :)

I still haven't blogged about our trip to Mabuhay land, and I'm thinking perhaps I won't blog about it at all. Been too busy with farmville, one piece and tumblr. =.=" 24 hours doesn't seem too long anymore.lol

Several career opportunities popped out, and I am so thankful. I am just not sure which risk should I take. I had been dreaming about taking the road less traveled, but these days, the road less traveled seems a bit crowded. So, probably I should go with the road MORE traveled. We'll see, we'll see.

I'm off to another camp this afternoon. Semper fidelis is the theme, and I am eager to learn more about the Word. The weather is quite a concern, but we've been there, done that. Nothing really worry us anymore. Our lack of interest in socializing is more worrisome. There was one camp, the Friday night program ended at 8.30 p.m. and we (me & Neptune) went straight to sleep. Perhaps we ARE aging and staying up late during a camp is just not our game anymore.

Anywho, we hope nothing but the best from this camp!

And an obligatory segment which I should include in this post is of course about Japan, where everyone keep chanting Pray for Japan. Here's my simple prayer, which I got from chibird.

All the aftermath of the earthquake which includes tsunami, fire, nuclear, radiation and stuffs...I hope you heal soon Japan.

How I wish I had seen this advice before the trip coz it's sooo true. But how to bring twice the money when I am currently jobless and without income?*sigh*

Anyway, the important part is that we had fun, made new friends and learnt new stuffs.

Us five together with Yscel, Raxy and Monica. It's really great knowing them! They made our stay there very much easier.
