academic cycle

Lets just say, I am stuck between confusion and hopelessness which eventually leads me to lose my sanity.
Really looking forward to reach accomplishment, which feels so distant from me.

No, I am NOT complaining.

*image from vi.sualize again..they say it vi.sualize, et. al when it comes to writing dissertation*
*which reminds me..i finished typing a blog post in just one minute, yet for dissertation, one hour equals to less than a paragraph*

How You See It Makes A Difference

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness.... In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling...
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it.

This Is A Big Part of Me.

This is why I can't be a vegetarian. I could say no to kfc, mcd, nasi ayam, chicken chop, ayam kurma, bubur ayam, bbq-ed chicken wings, etc.. But no, not to this food.

This is more than merely just a meal . I personally call this tradition. At least, it is tradition for me and my girls. Going down to KB together and have this as our reunion meal. That's how it is with us.

It tasted the same since it costed RM1.50 per bowl more than 10 years ago. Now it is RM4.50 (my serving size). The aroma of crisp bawang goreng, the tenderness of the noodles, the nothing-can-beat-this soup served in humble china..simply the best! I never tasted anything quite the same as this one. And that is why everyone who went away from home would miss the uniqueness of this meal!

I am thankful I grew up with this delicious meal (despite of the amount of MSG added), and that I knew such food that holds significant sentimental value to me.

This meal spells HOME to me. Mee sup KB. Heavenly.

Point of Views

Optimist : The glass is half-full.

Pessimist : The glass is half-empty.

Realist : Yep. That's a glass, alright.

Idealist : One day, cold-fusion from a glass of water will provide unlimited energy and end war.

Capitalist : If I bottled this and gave it a New Agey sounding name, I could make a fortune.

Communist : This drink belongs to every single one of us in equal measure.

Conspiracist : The government is fluoridating the water for mind-control purposes.

Sexist : This glass isn't gonna refill itself, honeybun...

Nihilist : The glass does not exist, and neither do I.

Opportunist : There's a funny t-shirt in here somewhere.

Deal with it, people are so diverged that they see the same thing very differently.

Thus, thou shalt not judge.

my evenings.my wedding.my moment

-henpon 2mp-

Yayy! This is kinda sakai..but I admit, I am sakai at times. =D

I saw shoes and stuffs alike by charmain before in mags (Women Weekly), and seeing it in Parkson a while ago made me break my own shopping rule of thumb. Another pair brought home despite of constantly reminding myself that I DON'T NEED A NEW PAIR!*sigh* I really can't resist buying a shoes with my name on it!

I liked most of its design, but some were too extravagant (in terms of price and style) for me. And I believe, shoes tells a lot about one's personality. I love flats and sandals and sneakers and flipflops the most because it is practical, but on weekends, you can see me in my heels and wedges. Well, the only appropriate venue for me to be taller and not feel awkward about it is at church. Furthermore, I am dressing my best every Saturday. *wink*

However, I don't really get their tag-line my evenings.my wedding.my moment. Hmm, maybe it is a marketing thing that I have yet to learn.

Okay, I'm gonna wear my new shoes as I continue eliminating models for Econometrics..which I have been doing all day!

Rainbow of Promise

Yea, lame title again. (^.^)

I am in awe of the Lord's mighty promises.

I am currently experiencing undergrad chaos ; a period of time where all things seems to be going wrong. Seriously, I felt I have done nothing right lately these days. I call this state undergrad chaos because indeed it is chaotic and I believe every undergrad or student can relate to my feelings. I refuse to elaborate more on those chaos, since I am trying hard not to complain and spread the negative vibe.

This morning, I woke up and read my devotional. The story of Nathaniel Hawthorne who didn't give up on his failure and later on succeeded. Long story made short though.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This is the promise of the LORD Almighty to the exiles from Jerusalem to Babylon, back in those days. Yet, the promises still applies this very day! People may have different understanding on this text, each may be influenced by the current happenings around them. I have my own view, as a struggling undergraduate. And it is the promise of the LORD, giving me hope in any kind of academic circumstances, be it good, be it bad.

I am glad I know such Lord.

Confident of Being Protected

A message with that title was sent to my inbox today.

Life is not always about sweets and candies. And cupcakes. And honey. And sugar.
Today was one of those unsweetened days.

Everything is off track and cracking me.
I am seriously about to explode.
MidTerms, lab test, due dates and project thing all squeezed up in one short period of time is not a pretty feeling. Add up monthly hormone rage and voila, super fugly combo!

But reading that message in my inbox changes the way I interpret all the unlikable happenings.
Despite everything, I have the strongest assurance in HIM. In HIM alone I can have comfort.

I am confident that I am being protected all the time. Even though my humanly eyes often sees the opposite.
